At a time when urgency often dictates our reactions, hypnosis offers a privileged moment when you can finally reconnect with your deepest essence. It's an essential break to get back on course and move forward with discernment at the start of the new year.
Some time ago, a financial manager—let's call him Marc here—made an appointment at my office in Luxembourg. Marc was going through a period of deep professional disarray. “For the past few months, without really knowing why, I've been feeling deeply disoriented. I no longer have the self-confidence that previously guided me in making important choices. Without it, I start to doubt, I lose effectiveness, and my leadership suffers.”
The power of unconscious introspection
Hypnosis naturally creates a space where rational certainties momentarily fade away to make way for another, more intuitive form of intelligence. Indeed, intelligence is not limited to rational analysis. Our best decisions often stem from a harmonious alliance between reason and intuition.
In this inner space, hypnosis enables us to engage in an intimate dialogue with ourselves, to take stock and sort things out unconsciously, beyond dashboards and performance indicators.
Highly analytical by nature, Marc had his doubts about the approach. However, his desire to change was sincere, which enabled him to overcome his preconceptions. He simply allowed himself to live the hypnotic experience and be open to the possibilities. From the very first session, he shed his emotional burden before experiencing a deep inner calm. He had laid the foundations for his transformation.
The subtle balance between reactivity and inner wisdom
In our modern work environment, constant pressure often pushes us towards two equally damaging extremes: paralysis through over-analysis or impulsive reaction in response to the climate of constant urgency. Hypnosis opens a third way, reconciling reflection and intuition.
“I understand now,” explains Marc, ”that I was compensating for my disarray either by over-analysis or by rushing into decisions to maintain the image of the decisive leader. Neither of these approaches really satisfied me. It was increasingly constraining me internally and manifesting itself through my doubts and hesitations.”
By reconciling reason and intuition, hypnosis reactivates the inner compass and acts on several levels:
- Decisions gain in depth because they integrate both analysis and feeling, which in part stems from acquired experience.
- The assessment of situations becomes more complete, enriched by a finer perception of the ins and outs.
- Leadership takes on a more human and inspiring dimension.
- Confidence is anchored in a deeper understanding and a broader sense of what is at stake.
Calming the mind and boosting self-esteem
By calming the mind and strengthening the connection between our different forms of intelligence, hypnosis boosts our confidence in our own abilities and consequently our self-esteem.
For this is one of the essential virtues of hypnosis: the person is the actor in his or her own transformation. For Marc, this was not only gratifying but also a relief, as he showed himself that he had just “misplaced”, not “lost”, his inner compass. Through the hypnotic experience, he empowered himself to independently break free from his negative cycle and transition into a new phase of his life.
“Today,” concludes Marc, ”I feel more complete in my approach to challenges. Numbers and analysis are still essential, but I feel I've rediscovered the self-confidence I'd lost. It's like having found a trusted partner in my decision-making.”
A new way to listen to yourself more authentically
Hypnotic trance enables us to access a form of wisdom that transcends simple reactivity. It reminds us that we are more than our analytical capacities or impulsive reflexes. It offers us the opportunity to reconnect with the deeper intelligence that lies dormant within each of us for more authentic decisions about who we are and a strengthened self-esteem.
